Why does my CLP label say “Safety data sheet available on request”

person making artisan candles

Have you recently recieved CLP labels where the only text shown is “Safety datsheet available on request” ? If so, you might be initially concerned, but fear not!

In short, this simply means that the scent is not hazardous when used at the specified percentage, and there are no hazard words, icons, warnings or statements that need to be shown.

Why do i need a CLP label if my oil is not hazadous?

CLP regulations state the following:

“…the label on the packaging of liquid and solid mixtures not classified as hazardous shall bear statement EUH210 “Safety data sheet available on request”.

This means that you do still need to provide a CLP label on your item, with the EUH210 statement and your business contact details.
